Wenting Shi
Pianist Wenting Shi is a dedicated artist whose passion for music has been recognized
through a distinguished collection of prestigious awards on the international stage. She is
a First Prize winner of the Luminarts Cultural Foundation Fellowship Award (USA), earning the title of Fellow Artist. Other notable achievements include First Prize at the Thaviu-Isaak Piano Competition (USA), the Berlin Artur Schnabel Piano Competition, the WFIMC member competition – Hong Kong International Piano Competition, the Serge & Olga Koussevitzky Young Artist Awards Piano Competition, and the San Jose International Piano Competition. She was also honored with the Georges Cziffra Prize, presented by the Cziffra Stiftung in Austria.
Wenting’s academic and artistic journey reflects her deep dedication to music. She earned
her Bachelor’s degree with the Arthur Rubinstein Prize for Academic and Artistic
Achievement, followed by a Master’s degree from The Juilliard School and a Master of
Musical Arts degree from the Yale School of Music. Firmly grounded in the German-
Austrian musical tradition, she graduated with highest distinction ("Auszeichnung/With
Distinction") from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Additionally, she earned the "Konzertexamen" degree from the Berlin University of the Arts, the highest
level of performance education in Germany. She also holds a Doctor of Musical Arts
degree from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music.
As an international recitalist, Wenting has performed with leading orchestras such as the
Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Symphony
Orchestra, and Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra. She has appeared in renowned
venues worldwide, including Alice Tully Hall (New York), Salle Gaveau (Paris), the Royal
Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium (Brussels), Hong Kong City Hall, and the Musikverein
(Vienna).
