Steinway Artist Jon Batiste leads all Grammy nominees with 11 nominations. This is unprecedented since Michael Jackson was nominated for a dozen Grammys in 1983. Batiste has nominations in six different fields (outside of the general field): R&B, jazz, American roots, music for visual media, classical, and music video/film. Batiste is nominated for record of the year, album of the year, best traditional R&B performance, best R&B album, best improvised jazz solo, best jazz instrumental album, best American roots performance, best American roots song, best score soundtrack for visual media, best contemporary classical composition, and best music video.
