“With the keys of Steinway as my steps and my music as a torch, may it help more children gain access to the gift of quality music education.”

Audrey Lamkei Sung

Audrey Sung is a dedicated and warm-hearted emerging musician who stands on the cusp
of her 16th year from Vancouver, currently attending Crofton House School. A gifted
pianist with a passion for music and philanthropy, Audrey has been making waves in
both the musical and charitable spheres from an early age. Since 2024, she has proudly
served as the President of the NOVA (New, Outstanding, Virtuosic and Ascending
individuals) Branch of the Pacific Rim International Music & Education Society (PRIME
Society), a testament to her leadership and artistic excellence.
Audrey’s piano journey began at age six under the guidance of the Steinway Artist and
RCM Fellow Edward Han Jiang, whose emphasis on discipline and artistry shaped her
foundational musicianship. During her time living in China, she studied with esteemed
instructors including Ms. Eleanor Wong, Dr. Jacqueline Bei-Hua Tang and Professor Liu
Shi Kun, later continuing her training in North America under Vladimir Viardo and
Edward Jiang, each contributing to her nuanced interpretive style.
Early recognition of her talent came through prestigious international competitions: she
earned the Gold Prize in the Artist Category of the Pacific Rim International Music
Festival (PRM) and the "Tchaikovsky Memorial Award" at the International Youth Piano
Concerto Competition. In 2019, her PRM victory led to a debut at New York’s Carnegie
Hall, a milestone for any young artist. Two years later, she achieved the Associate of the
Royal Schools of Music (ARSM) diploma, a testament to her advanced technical and
expressive skills.
2024 marked a career highlight as Audrey performed at the 19th Vienna International
Music Festival, delivering both a solo recital and a concerto at Vienna’s iconic Golden
Hall of the Musikverein. Critics lauded her "uncommon sensitivity and precision,"
cementing her reputation across European stages and media. Audrey received the
recognition as Young Steinway Scholar in 2024.
Beyond music, Audrey’s commitment to social responsibility is deeply ingrained. At 10
years old, she actively supported COVID-19 relief efforts, distributing supplies in her
community and donating personal funds to frontline organizations, an effort that earned
her Hong Kong media’s title of "the Youngest Pandemic Star." In September 2022, she
channeled her performance earnings into a $30,000 CAD donation to advance Canadian
music education, a gesture spotlighted by CTV National News, CTV Vancouver, and
Phoenix Satellite Television North America. Her vision aims to empower young
musicians by breaking down barriers to training and performance opportunities.
Continuing this dual mission, Audrey was invited to perform a charity concert at Kasteel
Duivenvoorde in the Netherlands in July 2024, raising €15,000 for Local-Heroes
Netherlands’ Kenyan school development project. The event, celebrated by local media
and philanthropic circles, exemplified her belief in music as a catalyst for global change.
With a rare blend of artistic maturity and compassionate leadership, Audrey Sung
continues to inspire as both a virtuoso and a visionary, proving that excellence in music
can harmonize seamlessly with a commitment to lifting others. In 2025, Audrey received
one of Vancouver’s highest recognitions — the Mayor’s Achievement Award.
