Musical Communion

Gerardo Teissonnière, steinway artist

I grew up in Puerto Rico at a time when the world’s greatest pianists came to the island, and I knew then I wanted to be one of them. I studied their individual sound and realized they had a few things in common, including being Steinway Artists. When I entered conservatory, I spent many hours working to approach the beauty of their playing and was lucky to be able to do that on a Steinway.

‘Music would not be the same without my Steinway.’

Playing one in a concert hall is the best feeling because I know that my performance will be a communion with the music and my audience. I get to do that at home everyday, which is vital to my work as a musician. To me playing a Steinway means to communicate with the eloquence of a string quartet and the beauty of the human voice all at the same time. Music would not be the same without my Steinway.
